It functions at the taluka or block level and acts as a link between the Gram Panchayat (village level) and the Zilla Parishad (district level).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The main functions of the Panchayat Samiti are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Implementation of Development Schemes : Effective implementation of various development schemes implemented by the Central Government and the State Government. This includes sectors like agriculture, health, education, water supply, sanitation, rural roads and social welfare.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Control and Supervision of Gram Panchayats : To monitor the functioning of Gram Panchayats within its jurisdiction, guide them and approve their plans. The Panchayat Samiti is responsible for maintaining coherence in the functioning of Gram Panchayats.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Infrastructure Development : Construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, health centers, schools and other essential infrastructure in rural areas.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Financial Management : Planning the funds received by the Panchayat Samiti and ensuring that they are being used properly. This includes government grants, funds received from the Zilla Parishad, and other tax collections.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Problem Solving : Identifying the problems and needs of the people in our area and taking necessary measures to solve them by prioritizing them.
