Tribal Culture and Warli Art:
Wada taluka is mainly inhabited by tribal tribes like Warli, Katkari and Malhar Koli. The rich culture of these tribes is an integral part of life here.
* Warli Painting: This is an important part of tribal culture. Warli paintings are painted using paints made from natural materials, such as rice flour and clay.
Traditional festivals and celebrations:
* Bohada Festival: This is an important festival that preserves the traditions of the tribal community. In this, people wear masks of gods and goddesses from the Ramayana and Mahabharata and dance to the tune of the traditional instrument “Sambal”. This festival is especially celebrated during the monsoon season or during Akshaya Tritiya.
* Mahashivratri: A large procession is held on the day of Mahashivratri at the famous Shankar temple in Tilse village, in which thousands of devotees come for darshan.
* Ganeshotsav: Many families here have had a tradition of celebrating Ganeshotsav for many years.
* Holi (Shimga): The festival of Holi is celebrated with great enthusiasm, especially by tribal brothers who return to their native villages for this festival, even though they are out of town for work or business.
Local features:
* Wada Kolam: Wada taluka is known worldwide for its special 'Wada Kolam' rice.
* Fireworks Market: Wada is home to the largest wholesale fireworks market in Maharashtra.
* Tourism: There are many religious and historical sites, such as Kohoch Gad, Vajreshwari, Ganeshpuri and Nagnath pilgrimage sites, which enrich the culture of this area.
