Vision and Mission

Panchayat Samiti is an important institution in the Panchayat Raj system. It functions at the taluka or block level and acts as a link between the Gram Panchayat (village level) and the Zilla Parishad (district level).

The main functions of the Panchayat Samiti are as follows:

  •  Implementation of Development Schemes : Effective implementation of various development schemes implemented by the Central Government and the State Government. This includes sectors like agriculture, health, education, water supply, sanitation, rural roads and social welfare.
  •  Control and Supervision of Gram Panchayats : To monitor the functioning of Gram Panchayats within its jurisdiction, guide them and approve their plans. The Panchayat Samiti is responsible for maintaining coherence in the functioning of Gram Panchayats.
  •  Infrastructure Development : Construction and maintenance of roads, bridges, health centers, schools and other essential infrastructure in rural areas.
  •  Financial Management : Planning the funds received by the Panchayat Samiti and ensuring that they are being used properly. This includes government grants, funds received from the Zilla Parishad, and other tax collections.
  •  Problem Solving : Identifying the problems and needs of the people in our area and taking necessary measures to solve them by prioritizing them. In short, the Panchayat Samiti is an important link in rural development, which strives to meet the needs of the people and bring them into the flow of development.
