Irrigation wells are provided under the Maharashtra Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme to ensure that the agricultural lands of the Takyas are irrigated to a greater extent and to provide them with sufficient water for agriculture. Beneficiary selection criteria for the Irrigation Well Scheme
1) Beneficiaries should have at least 0.60 ha of contiguous area.
2) There should be no well registration on 7/12 of the beneficiary.
3) The beneficiary must be a job card holder and must be able to work as a laborer.
4) Must have Groundwater Survey Development System certificate.
5) Well cost parameters: Maximum limit for well construction is 2.00 lakhs.
