Retrofitting

The following steps are being taken to ensure availability of 55 liters of water per capita per day in the schemes whose conception period or life of the scheme has not expired and in which water supply is currently being provided through community, public taps. In the existing schemes which are capable of supplying 55 liters of water per capita per day or, it is possible to provide 55 liters of water per capita per day by increasing the pumping hours / making minor improvements in the pumping machinery in these schemes, the work of providing individual tap connections should be included under the heading of corrective retrofitting and the work of providing individual tap connections should be started immediately.

In the above villages, the work of extending the distribution channels within the village, if necessary, should also be included in this corrective retrofitting.
